Question Loose Motor Mount & Torque Rod?

After a recent drop-off at my local Volvo dealership, I was informed that the reason for the noise my vehicle was making when letting off the accelerator was a loose motor mount and torque rod.

Have you had this same experience? Also, I've read that it would be odd for the torque rod to be bad, but perhaps the torque mount bushing?

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize in advance! However, my purpose in joining is to educate myself more about my vehicle, Volvos, and learn how I can maintenance my S80 and 2005 XC90...additionally, over time I hope to be able to help other people as well! Your input is appreciated!

The torque rod bushing comes with the whole torque rod, so that is why they are recommending the torque rod. Its common to break.

Which motor mount is the problem? The upper one is common to fail.

ES6T,
Thanks for the reply. The service rep told me it is the upper motor mount.

Sounds like this is a common repair based on age/mileage? I have a 2007 S80 with about 82k on it.

Yep, both are very common.
