Need help with P0101 code
Before I begin, I searched inside and out, read through all the explanations of the code. I realize the easiest thing to do is just replace the MAF
sensor with said code, but I'm not made of money
The car is a 2000 S80 2.9L (completely stock)
Alright so according to OBD-II Trouble Codes - DTC Codes Car Repair P0101 is "Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Range/Performance Problem".
Now my symptoms are an intermittent unstable idle, complete loss of top end power, (I'll floor it, and the RPM's will slowly climb, they'll climb smoothly without any hesitation, but the car will barley go anywhere.)
Now, here's what I've checked. I've checked the air filter, seemed a bit dirty but can't see it causing this. I've cleaned the MAF with a MAF cleaner. checked the wiring to the MAF as best I can with the naked eye. and checked the vacuum hoses to the best I can.
Is it safe to say the MAF sensor is failing? Or does anyone out there have anything else I can try?
Thanks!

Vacuum leak
Hello, i had a similar problem on my '97 960 with the 2.9 engine, had several codes and CEL coming on. After researching and testing i found the intake gasket leaking, so i replaced it and engine runs great now.
Gasket cost me $7.00 at local Carquest plus labor, which looks more difficult than what it really is,saved me a lot of money and guesswork.
