RE: no turn signal and no high beam
beeing new in this forum I did not realize that I could do a search on this topic. I did and found one where you mentioned about the steering wheel module and programming. I went to the volvo shop in the next town, he deals only with volvo but is not a dealership. He did a DIM programming and it fixed the problem and the best part is the cost, 55$ + tx. The technician said that it should at 99% take care of it for good. Worst case scenario is that it will need a program package only available at the dealer for about 45$ plus labor at 92$ / hour.
So thanks againtech for pointing me in the right direction. From readingdifferent topics I can see that you know your volvo's. Keep up the goodwork.

Solved!
New member here. Just wanted to thank you all for this thread. I know it is an older one, but I came in here desparately looking this week, because my turn signals, high beams, etc. stopped working on my 2000 S80. Saw the thread about disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and tried it before I took the car to a dealer, and it worked!! AWESOME!! You guys are the best! I'm hoping this is a permanent fix, but even if it isn't, I was thrilled to be able to get everything working again.

Speedracersworld, I posted almost 2 years ago, and haven't had the problem ever again, since I did the battery disconnect trick. Just wanted to tell you that when I had my car in at the dealer a few weeks ago for a minor problem, I told the tech that I did that, and he told me that it's fine to do that, but that I should "reset" the system once I rehook the battery, by putting the key in the driver's door lock, and then turning it to lock, unlock, lock, unlock (in that order). That resets everything. Just an extra tip. Good luck - hope it worked!

Awesome! It's amazing the little tricks you learn on these forums, from people who've "been there, done that" that save you potential repair costs. I read that there is always a chance that it might happen again, and then you'll have to replace the module if it keeps occurring, but like I said, I haven't had the problem ever again after doing that, and it's been 2 years.

turns and highs
Since my deer hit a few weeks ago (hood, all of my front lights, fender, door) I've been piecing my 95 850 GLT wagon back together and noticed that I too don't have turn signals or high beams. Checked all of the bulbs, tried different 15A fuses. Got nothing. Unfortunately that was last night (still waiting for a new radiator to arrive) and today I got a ride to work. SO I will have to try this little trick tonight, see if the magic will work for me too. Sounds like I'm not alone on this one...
