Default A noise I've never read about

My 2002 T6 makes the following noise after being turned off: It is a medium humming sound with a duration of about 5 seconds. It will repeat about 10 -20 times with a space of about 20-30 seconds between sounds. Eventually, the cycle stops. It seems to be some type of motor that tries to go on, then doesn't. Since the sound seems to be coming from the drivers side of the engine, I thought it might be the headlight washer motor, but it wasn't. Any ideas?
Also, has anyone ever experienced returning to their long parked car to find the interior blower running at full blast? This happens to me about twice a month, and the fan will not go off until I turn they key.
any opinions would be welcome.
Thanks.

1. It might be the throttle body going to sleep.

2. That is normal the car has something called an afterblow function.

Thanks Tech. Are you suggesting that these 2 things are normal? Because they are both recent events. And I have had T6's for over a 150k miles.
