Oxygen Sensor
My check engine light is on and I took it to the dealer. They indicated that my 1999 S80 has four oxygen sensors and three are bad and I should have all four replaced for a total cost of $2,000. Does this seem right and is this a reasonable price? Any suggestions on making the repair?
I found this:

C5010-90000 Bosch Oxygen Sensor (usually Bosch is the OEM for Volvo but double check)
1999 - 2004 Volvo S80
Fit Info: 6-CYL.
Eligible for FREE shipping.
List Price: $169.55
Your Price: $135.64
(135.64 x 4 = $542.56?)
Or the dealer's parts dept people may be inhaling something they shouldn't.....[8D] I've never used this vendor and don't know the quality of service.
In case if you want to do a further research:

Good luck,
JPN
P.S: O2 sensors are installed along the exhaust system, close to the engine or catalytic converter. If you can do so safely, see if there are actually 4 O2 sensors, you'll know when you see them; they have electrical wires attached. Replacing O2 sensors requires special socket called, well, "O2 sensor socket". If you're not confident about replacing them by yourself, check with a shop to see if they accept parts from customers, as some shops don't.

Yeah...these are very expensive O2 sensors. OEM $250 Bosch $150 Bosch without plug $75. Four sensors total. Easy to find...about 6 inches pre and post cat. However, changing is a b*&^% because the wires run underneath heat shield which requires removal by no easy means. Good luck
You can utilize the original sensors which require a "special" tool to remove, or you can purchase generic sensors which require wire splicing when installing. In any event the sensors are an item that can be installed by any reputable shop which could save you dollars if you choose not to tackle the job your self.
