Radiator Hose
I wonder if anyone has had the same problem with their radiator hose as I have. It started as a small leak and then into a bigger, tried to tighten it up but it didn't help so i bought a new hose. When i compared the new and old one, there was a big difference, the old one was really worn out. Anyways i put it in with the old clamp at first and there was a small leak, not enought to be worried about but i had just replaced the hose so i didn't think I'd have a problem. Well I put in a new clamp and still there's the leak. You can put your finger right where the upper radiator hose meets the radiator, and you'll come out with just enough coolant to wet your finger. I've tightened the clamp as far as i can without damaging the radiator and still the leak is there. I've even taken off the hose to check for cracks on the radiator, no luck. I'm losing about half a cup of coolant a day. Is there something that I'm missing?? Should I try two clamps, funny how there isn't a leak where the hose meets the engine. I've never had this problem with a hose, anyone, please give me some insight.
There's 2 things I would check.
1) make sure the clamp is placed properly. It should NOT be on the high notch of the connection, but after the notch. (not sure if I explain it right).
2) I would check the radiator cap. Too much pressure in the system would force it to go through the weakess point and leak. With high pressure, the coolant would escape out to the reservor, then engine cools down and sucks it back. I would wipe it dry and check the leak in the morning with cold engine. If it doesn't leak, then more likely radiator cap. If it does, check for leak at the neck of the connector to the radiator. This one is hard because it's hard to tell. A very very tiny hole could be there and leaks under pressure.
When all fail, I would go the a radiator shop and have them test it. I'm sure will be a lot cheaper than dealer. Good luck!

There's no leak when it's cold, it's been a couple of days and it looks good. Maybe it'll stay that way. kinda funny how there is no radiator cap, just a resevoir.
