Rear Door locks non-op
I have a 2001 S80 whose rear door locks do not function. I eiether have the master, or the service key, but not the remote one. When I use my key in the door, the driver opens, then the passengers, and the trunk, but not the rear doors. I have checked the fuse in the trunk... Is there anything else I can look for? Doubt it is something in the door as both do not work, maybe some module.

RE: Rear Door locks non-op
Hi, after unlocking the driver and passenger doors with the key...... have you also tried pressing the door lock button on the drivers side door? I know mine if often tempermental..... for instance if I am behind the wheel and my wife is trying to open a rear door it may take up to 5 clicks of the button for it to finally unlock for her.

The reason I ask is because the Rear Door locks are controlled by the computer in the trunk.(Fuse panel) Called Rem(Rear Electronic module).
But if something is wrong with the Rem the Fuel guage and Rear windows won't work either. You might need to have the codes pulled for the Rem and make sure there is none. It might also just be both door locks bad. |
