Rear shock absorbers for 2010 S80
My S80 has the rear shock absorbers with the reservoirs. One isn't working so needs changing. Dealer part only. Very expensive and hard to find second hand. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the reservoir types shockers and replace them with standard shockers?
google "replace nivomat shocks" and you'll find some blog posts on the topic. That said, You can source replacements via dealer web stores like Tasca Parts ($354 for the self leveling shock vs $110 for standard) which will save you $100+ per shock vs a local dealer.
Plan B would be to check out rockauto.com who sells the Monroe brand aftermarket replacements for the self leveling shocks at $220 per (better hurry, site says they have 2 remaining in stock).
