Default rotational noise

My S80, has developed a funny rotational/resonating noise at speeds more than 40MPH, gets louder as the speed increases. It does not change when i change gear or depress clutch. The noise echos through the car and can even feel the hand break vibrating. Car drives fine otherwise, no clunking on turning.
Please help. Any ideas what this could be before am ripped off.

Many Thanks.
Andy.

Default RE: rotational noise

Just speculating but sounds like you may have a warped tyre... Do you feel any extra movement in the steering wheel etc?

What you can do for a start is get someone to watch the rotation of the tyres as you drive past them, sometimes if it is bad enough you can see it without having to hoist the car..
