the lights that go on and off are:

1. brake failure stop asap
2. check engine
3.abs
4.power steering
5.stc

they may come on then go off, the only one that stays on constantly is the check engine and airbag symbol. i want to bring it to a volvo dealer but want to know what i'm talking about and have some clue

1,2,3,5 may all be related. I will bet the ABS module is bad.
1 and 3 will most likely be R/R wheel sensor and Pump motor fault codes. = Bad ABS module
2 Will most likely be a code like Vehicle speed sensor signal.(Which comes from the ABS)
5 is also controlled by the ABS module.

4 is the only thing im not sure about. That code rarely comes up but may be from the ABS as well.

The Air bag light might be a bad seatbelt.

ALSO has the battery been Dead lately?

These cars are very funny about getting a jump start. They will set a ton of codes in the computer.

If you can get all the codes cleared and see what happens. The SRS code might just be a Ghost code from the battery being DEAD.
