Default S-80 Auto-darkening rear-view mirror problem

I've got a 99 that the auto-darkening is "stuck",not working. It changes just a little bit on the top left side but not more than a quarter of an inch tall by about an inch wide. What should I look for.

The Mirror is bad.

The really bad part is it is expensive to replace. It is the computer for the Remote locking.

Hello
Might be better to have your original part repaired at upfix.com

Here is the service link

$40 for a new electric dimming glass? If so that's s deal. Must have a bunch of that size and there's no demand.

Another option is to purchase a used manually adjustable Volvo mirror from a s60 or v70, take both apart, use a long wallpaper knife to cut the double sided foam tape on the back of the mirror glass to release the UEM and swap it to your used manual mirror.

Every time I've done that I've had to pay much more than $40 for a used mirror.

14 year old zombie thread by a guy how makes a couple of cents for everytime someone clicks his link. Almost as irritating as a telemarketer.
