Yes they are big pics and a little close.
In one of the pics (Top) it looks normal
But in one of the other pics it looks like something is missing(Bottom)
Do you have a molding on there now?
If you do does it have little flip up door looking things on it?
If so then that is normal. There will be a little gap between the Painted molding and the roof.

The channel from the windshield along the top of the car over both doors, to the rear window is empty. You can see where the rubber surround for the windshield ends, and also in the rear where the rubber surround for the rear window crosses over the channel. Other then the front and rear window rubber surrounds, there is no rubber in the channel. No flap, dorr, or anything. It is bare painted metal between the front windshield and the rear window. Is there a part number or something for this rubber weatherstripping? It looks funny on the car with the 1/4 or 1/2 inch deep channel running down both sides and nothing in it.

No. There is nothing in the channel all along the roof to the back window. There is some sort of barcket, which I assume the roof bars mount to somehow. The roof bars being an accesory I do not have. One could roll a marble from the front of the vehicle to the back along the channel.

Hi Richard,
Yes....... there should be plastic weatherstrips on both sides of the roof and from what I can surmise they do appear to be missing from your car. The plastic strip would have been painted to match the color of your car. The strips on my S80 are very unsightly, badly oxidized and discolored. I've been considering either replacing or repainting them. Since this may be a common problem it leads me suspect that your moldings may have been removed by the previous owner or possibly by the dealer in an attempt to improve the cars appearance.
If you do find any information on the price and availablity of the moldings..... please share.
Good Luck!
Rex
