S80 Mk 2 Boot Loom Wire Identification
Hi All,
First post , so please bare with me.
MY Mk 2 2007 S80 had its MOT this week and failed due to rear number plate lights not working. Upon investigation it was found that the five wires coming off of the Boot Loom operating number plate lights, boot lock had been severed. These wires are all black (other than one that is Blue / Black) . The garage undertook some investigations and managed to re-join the two wires feeding the number plat lights but could not get a earth or live reading from the 3 others even when pressing the cabin boot unlock button etc.
Question is - given that the wires on the loom are all black , has anybody found a way of undertaking testing to work out what is what ?
I've had to disconnect the loom plug into the bottom of the lock mechanism as the lock is constantly vibrating due to the severed wires. This also takes out the lighting to the number plate .
All help gratefully received.
Best Wishes
Jeremy
