s80 t6 head problems
the other day (its was a cold day) i needed to go to the store. i let it warm up for a minute but not long and when i took off i sorta got on the gas a little. well i pull into the store and when i turned down the radio i heard the awful noise. so i get out and open the hood and my engine sounds like a freakin deisel. it sounds like everything is just banging into everything else in the upper end of my engine. it runs fine.... like FINE lacks a little power but no oil or smoke and its pretty smooth running and start on the first key. im getting a check engine light and pulled codes (dont remember them) but they were both nock sensor related. i checked the timing marks and everything looks good there. any ideas as to what would cause this?
the good part is i still have the motor that was in it from before and the upper end of that one is good so if i have to i should beable to do a complete head swap pretty easily.
couple of questions. on the variable cam shaft pully there are 3 bolts and the gear is adjustable by loosening these 3 bolts. any idea how to set these?
also is it possible to do a timing belt swap without pulling the crank pully?
thanks
