I have a serice SRS urgent light on and no accident. The SRS sticker on the passenger left door also states SRS expires april 09!!!
So I went to my Volvo guy who was kind enough to inspect it. The computer said the SRS moduel was bad. So a dealer visit is in order. My car is a early 04/99 production when all the wiring issues were at there best. My guy said lets try to find a used same date code moduel to put in. I found one from a toasted motor car and put it in ran the car/ SRS light on then 1 minuite later the whole car shuts off. I install my old unit and car runs and SRS light on.

Any suggestions as to if a used module can be programed by the dealer? or what may be my problem???

I had problem w/2000 s80 srs
Seems that 99-00 use a seperate
module for the srs whereas later ones
use the main computer,dealer should be
able to say if the bags are backward compatable.
