Default Sunroof help needed

So... My sunroof was working fine until a few months ago..
The first problem I had was that when I set it to close, instead of stopping at the closed position it would go automatically past the closed and to the rear lifted position..

With manual adjustments and patience, I could get it to close as it should.. Recently however when I press the sunroof control, nothing at all happens.. Any ideas on what we could be dealing with?

I have heard that the alarm module is somehow linked to the sunroof (strangely) and I know that mine is bad, so could that be a potential cause? On the other hand, could one of the guide rails be off, or worse yet could the motor have simply died? Do you all have any diagnosing tips?

I wish I knew more about the sunroof on this particular car. There has to be some limit switches OR a timing assembly... will dig.

Doesn't make any peculiar noises (grinding/popping) when closing/opening does it?

Well, if I recall coming down to the last few times it still worked it woold make a slight popping noise if taken all the way in the UP position..
Now it just doesnt move at all.. That said, I have a new observation..

Even though it doesnt move at all with the controls, it sometimes gives a little bit of audible noise if I hit a bump... like a sort of pressure change noise as if the sunroof itself just barely opened or "jumped" on its tracks for a split second, then back to normal..
Strange occurrences, and I guess I need someone who knows volvos to take a look and see whats up.

I am wondering where/who I can go to have the sunroof checked out and to get an honest answer about it...
I will probably have to take it down to my independent volvo shop to see..

I am still hoping that it somehow popped out of the tracks or something
