Default Sunroof and Remote Locking not working

The sunroof has just stopped responding to the ceiling mounted controls. In addition the remote locking generally does not work and the alarm goes off intermittenyl when I can eventually set it.

I have heard these issues are all related to a single computer in the car.

Can anyone offer more info on this, also approx cost to fix

S80 manufacture year 1998 - 48k miles

When this alarm goes off, does it make noise or just flash lights? It probably needs an alarm if so.

Interesting! I have similar issues... just today, the sunroof stopped responding to the controls and something seems to be draining the battery. I'm not sure if those two problems are related. But like Simon, the remote locking is also working very intermittently and I get messages/alerts that the alarm needs servicing.

Any thoughts? I'm wondering if there is a fuse or relay that I should be checking for the sunroof...

There are some threads about this. what you need to do is, open the windows, lock the car on the outside, remote or key, wait 30 secs pull lock **** up on door, then open door. IF lights flash and no sound, you need a siren and will help your other concerns.

Default alarm causing problems?

Well, following your instructions, I verified that the alarm siren is not working. The lights flashed but there was no audible alarm. But would that cause the battery to be drained? Or would it cause the sunroof to stop working? Since then, the sunroof has started working again (still no alarm)...

It causes a problem on the LIN network in the car, the siren leaks internally, someone posted something about it. Sunroof may work, now. The car has a code in it, and if scanned by VOLVO, it would be:
