Hi, Newbie here. My dad has a 2002 S80 T6. The lease is up at the end of the month. It has 57,000 kilometres (35625 miles). He has never had any problems, the dealer here treats him like gold. The buyout is ridiculously low. Volvo is offering an extended bumper to bumper (whatever that really means)5 year warranty up to 160,000kilometres (100,000 miles).

Is this a good year for the S80? I've read bad things about earlier years. Anything I should look out for?

The 2002 has most of the bugs worked out by then.I would say go for it.
Check the engine mounts for wear.The upper torque mount (upper engine mount) is the first to go.
