Thinking About Buying 2009 S80 3.2 non-turbo
I have been looking to buy a 9 or 10 year old S80 if I can find one at a good price. Found one at a Dealers lot that looks to be in great shape inside and out.
If anyone has any insight on performance and common problems with the 2009 S80s I would greatly appreciate a "heads up" and in general share your experience owning one of these.
The Dealer claims the 3.2 6 cylinder motor is more durable with less problems than the turbo motor.
Anyone care to comment on the 2009 s80 please do.

It is a generally reliable car. Try to get one with known maintenance history to be sure you don’t get one with a chronic problem. There is nothing bad, but some repairs can be costly. If you have the 4-C active suspension, it will cost roughly $2000 to replace the OEM shocks. The AC blower motor can begin making noise at 150K on many Volvos, so check the fan on low setting for any squealing.

When test driving these cars, definitely pay close attention to the way the transmission shifts gears as there have been some owners complaining of hard or delayed shifting when the transmission gets warm. Turns out some of these cars have valve body issues with the Aisin transmissions they have installed. You can Google Volvo S80 transmission flaring for more insight as to what to look out for.
