Default Volvo s80 99 - Crusie Control

Friends, from few days my Car's message board says "FIX AT NEXT SERVICE" and Cruise Control does not work, but as I switch off my car and turn it again the message gone and Cruise Control start working. Can any one tell me the exact problem, I appreciate your replies. Thanks

Next time the message is on try to get the code (if you don't have your own obd2 code reader, stop at an autoparts place that will read codes)

I've never had a code or message for this but sometimes my cruise just kicks off for no apparent reason and will not let me re-engage it for a few min. Any ideas on that - may be related ?

Thanks Falasi, your suggestion really worth to try. By the way the time I purchased this car, i noticed that old owner used to keep the cruse control on, i did not know what was the reason, All I know if something I am not using why keeping it on.
That is why I kept it turned off. But from yesterday I am trying the old owner way, keeping it on and guess no message is coming. Plus I always wonder for STC function as well which turns on while on starting the engine.

But since the whole senario seems electrical so cannot be sure what exactly the problem is. But surly will try to buy obd2 code reader.

Thanks
