Weird Starting
Okay so I have a 2002 Volvo S80 T-6 with 89,650 miles on it. I love the car to death but I'm running in a some issues when I'm starting the car. When I go to turn the key over to start sometimes it will take longer to start than normal, also my tachometer will jump up, not a full gauge sweep just a jump and go back down to zero and the car will start. This happens with hot or cold starts, after sitting for a while without the car running or just for a short bit. I would say it happens 3 out of every 10 starts. Ive never had a issue with the car not starting, it just take's longer to start and it kinda annoying. I would like to know if its a problem I can fix before it turns into something worse or not worry about it at all. The fuel filter has not been replaced sense I got the car (72,000 miles). Ive tried all octanes of gas (87, 89 and 91) but still the problem persists. I always turn the key to the "run" position (not start) and let it sit for a few seconds before I start the car to let the fuel pump run. Also I ALWAYS let the car sit and run after I'm done driving it to let the turbo's do there thing (I normally get out smoke a cigarette and then turn of the car, I think that should be long enough). I drive the car decent, but living in Phoenix I tend to get on it at times and I do drive my car fast around 85+ on the freeways late at night when I get off work... If anyone else Has this problem, or knows a fix lemme know! Thanks!

RE: Weird Starting
He is one thing I just found out about recently.
The crank sensor wire is sometimes to close to the positive cable on the backside of the engine. That causes the hard start problem.
Make sure the wires are as far away from each other as they can be.
Tech Note about this problem that we just found at work.

Took my car to a place called Volvo am I. They are awesome mechanics, honest and the best part is there cheep!!!!! I talked with them about the problem and they agree with the tech. Ill have them fool around with it when I take it in for and Oil change (by the way an oil change at Volvo am I is like $36).
