Default When to replace the Fuel Filter.

Hi

Anyone know when to replace the fuel filter on the 99 S80 2.9. I last replaced mine at 147K back in 2008 and the car now has 203k miles. But all the miles I drove since are highway.

The service schedule calls for it to be replaced every 105,000 miles.

A fuel filter should have limited to no impact on your gas mileage.

I replace fuel filters every 30k. They do get a lot of debris in them during this period. You can go longer but if vehicle has high mileage, it is always a good idea to keep in solid shape for prevention. They offer no effect on mileage like others have suggested. I guess 0 mileage if they are clogged.

I normally would look to change them every 30,000 miles or so but i'm one of those people who always tends to do maintenance before its due and not after..
I don't agree with 105,000 miles from volvo though as all filters will get clogged eventually
