Default WTB: 04 S80 Headlight (lens) in Canada

I had the pleasure of getting a AWD 2.5T 2004 S80 with 111k km on it a month ago.

I just finished detailing it (Jeebus, this car has to have *the* hardest clearcoat ever), cleaning the interior and generally prettying it up when I got a huge crack in my left headlight.

No worries I told myself, I'll just get the dealer to replace the lens. They said they don't replace lenses and they recommended replacing both (wtf?) headlights at the same time. They quoted me $3783.92 CAD (three thousand seven hundred eighty three dollars and ninety two cents canadian) for the two headlights and labor.

Moving on from these lunatics, I called a place in Calgary called Mr. Volvo, asking for a lens or at least a HL assembly without the bulbs (I've got nice HID bulbs). These guys quotes me around $560 CAD - still an astronomical amount for a molded piece of plastic with glass in front of it.

I found these online http://www.vlvworld.com/indexframe.h...ection_5_1.htm, but it still seems pricey considering I only need the lens.

My question is, can anyone recommend a place to get headlight lenses or at least affordable assemblies in Canada? I see that they sell OEM lens assemblies with halogen bulbs for under $150 in the states, I assume a bulbless assembly would be about $130.

Do you need just the glass? I have a pair of lenses. Just the glass and seal. They are off a 2000 S80 T6. They come off easy. Make me an offer. Pay for shipping and they are yours.

Is this the headlight you have. Some S80's had a different one.

Well, the glass shape looks about right, but the bulb locations inside the reflector look off. Sorry about the soft focus on the picture, I forgot to bump up the f-stop.

Why not order the lens from some US websites such as www.fcpgroton.com or www.rockauto.com

How much customs duty will you have to pay to import it?

I actually expanded my search to any shop, anywhere. I've been trying to find a xenon headlight lens for a week now. All I can find is 99-03 lenses and whole xenon assemblies for 2004 models. Turns out an original xenon assembly costs a little over $900, while the lenses for the 03 model are $80 in ipdusa. This is blasphemy. This is madness! Madness? THIS! IS! VOLVOOOOOOO (prices)!

I had a similar problem on the passenger side. i just had them install a n ew glass cover to replace the cracked one. On the road light output looks about the same. The new one is clear where the old xenon one is slightly tinted. The glass was $50.00 bucks
