Hit the toll road going to a friends and like usual it was empty. I open up the S80 and hit 100 all good 110 still going 120+ I notice a flash from the dash

the DTSC light came on


um why

 

Take it and leave it on the track for speeds like that.

 

just to clarify I dont support going that sort of speed on public roads... if you are court they WILL jail you and most likely suspend your license etc

re: the light... either you were hitting the speed limiter or the car was trying to tell you that you were losing traction, which is quite terrifying..

 

+1 on that.. Check your tire pressure and thread depth. Though that is a terrifying situation with that speed and possible tire slippage!

thats nothing i was hitting the limiter on my 97 max at 185 Km\h this volvo i so far went 170 Km\h only, but after i did the rack rebuild and inner and outer tie rods the car feels like new, very sturdy, i will try going faster...

 

In this case it was an omen:

DTSC = due to speed, crash.

Be careful out there.

 

please dont turn this into a "look at me, i went 230kmph on a public road" sort of thread...

volvo s80 or not, if you crash at that speed, you are dead..
