S90 Self Code check?
I did search prior to asking this question and did run across a thread response saying that an OBD II checker was required to run the codes... Is there any way that I can run codes on a '94 S90 Turbo without a tool? I drive a '93 300ZX and I have the ability to turn a potentiometer fully clockwise for a few seconds and returning it to norm and the check engine light will indicate all is well or what is going on with what system.
I don't personally have the Volvo; it is a friend of mine (yes, female) who said her check engine light came on and went off soon after driving it for a few minutes.
I am very active on the 300zxclub.com forums and I hope the members on this site are as active as they are over there. If someone would respond to this without flaming me would be immensely appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome aboard.
The S90 did not appear until 1997 and did not have a turbo.
In 1994 it would be a 960 which did have the B204T as one of its engines.
Confirm the year, model and engineand we can advise.

I'm sorry, I totally goofed up.
It is a '94 850 T5 Auto. I cannot be sure on the displacement of the engine- if I asked her she would be clueless and impatient with me in walking her through how to find out (I would go look myself, but I live 30 minutes away and I'm a poor college student- every penny counts with me).
I did find this thread;
https://volvoforums.com/m_52326/tm.htm
but it does not tell me how to run them and it appears that the instructions on how to reset them has disappeared...
Any clues?

You weren't far out on the car!!!
The '94 850 has a self diagnostic system in the engine compartment.
Follow this link to download a manual for the '95 850. The information in it applies to the '94.

It comes in a Zip file. Open it and you will find .pdf files. You need the file 'tests with codes turbo'. It is all in there.
Bill.
