Study: Men who own luxury cars are often jerks
The attached link references a "Journal of International Psychology" study that found "many owners of high-status luxury cars are actually ********". It particularly singled out German luxury car owners. I know the Volvo brand is marketing itself as a luxury or near-luxury brand, but I see it as a company that offers a safe, useful and well-designed, pleasing, but not gaudy or show-off-to-my-neighbor type of vehicle. Found this interesting. What's your opinion?

Psychology is typically termed a "soft" science. The problem is that "soft" can become "mush." I have not read the original article but the report also suggests that (1) this behavior pattern is not seen in women and (2) there is also a group of male drivers of these cars who do not follow the pattern. Key questions would be: Does the class of drivers of other, less expensive cars also exhibit this same bimodal pattern? Are there other characteristics (age, education,) with a similar correlation? In other words, what were the controls?
My own observation: The most aggressive drivers are typically seen in pick-up trucks, blue BMWs and Japanese hatchbacks.
