The fuel gauge has just stoped working on my v40 it rises to the red and then stops even though there is approx 1/2 tank of fuel. Is the fuel sender located under the rear seats ? Does the sender tend to play up often on these cars. I plan to check out the wiring when I get chance. Any other sugestions ?

I, too, drive 2001 v40, and just experienced the same fuel gauge problem this morning. Did you have any luck finding out the cause of the problem?
