Hello, I'm new here to your forum. I manage an auto parts store in Maryland and have a customer who is looking for an oil filter wrench for a 2004 V40. He says that the housing is marked "25mm." I have checked with my tool vendors and have had no luck locating a 25mm wrench. Any ideas?

I don't know about it being marked 25 mm but the wrench for the S/V40 and more of the later Volvos fits around the base of the filter.

That's the tool that I was going to sell him, but according to my tool vendor, that only fits up to 2003. The 2004 model and later use a special 25mm non-hex socket which they do not have a source for.

 

That is the tool specified in the VADIS instructions for changing the filter up to 2004, the end of the line for the V40. A different oil filter housing was used on the S40 from 2004 onwards. No special tool is specified in VADIS for that housing.
