I like yo know howe the immobilizer work in this V40.
My car start but die one second after the engine fire-up.

 

Look bye the speedometer and see if a light of a little car is flashing fast if so its not reading the key.

When I turn the ignition key to ON position the little car light is on and after 2 or 3 seconds it turns off. Does this mean that the immobilizer is working?

 

Yes that means it is working.Check all your fuses in teh engine compartment.There is a turbo valve in the induction valve that goes bad and when it does the car acts this way.If there is a blown fuse you will have to unplug the valve on the hose replace the fuse and the car will atleast start.You will have to replace the valve.
