This past winter I have had a problem with my immobilizer light coming on when the ignition has been turned over. The light will remain on untill the ignition has been switched off. Has anybody encountered this problem & if so how can it be fixed/managed?

That means that the signal was missing from the key.There is a fault somewhere between the key and the immoblizer.
Might be the key.
Might be the antenna for the immoblizer.
Might be the immoblizer.

I will speak to my service provider to have them check this out. Do you forsee any problems associated with this concern or will I be ok to drive my 40 when this light is still on?

 

It shouldn't run when the light comes on.That means there is no signal from the key to the immoblizer.

 

Thats the strange part about it! The car will turn over, the light will come on & stay on untill I cut the engine.

 

Yes that is strange.It is supposed to stop the engine from running when the light stays on.

 

this is an old post but hopeful to get an update or what’s going on because I have an 05 s40 that would crank start then immobilizer lights came on and car would die out I still can’t start as of 6/23/2021
