Hi guys so I've got a 64 plate v40 not even done 40k yet an the engine coolant level light came on, so I took it to kwik fit he had a look an said there was too much pressure but nothing to worry about the light went off, couple of days later it came back on so off I went to kwik fit again as Volvo wasn't very helpful, an he said there was too much pressure an possible a blow head gasket, the light went off again rang Volvo booked it in they said it wasn't safe to drive, the next day Volvo rang me an said it needed a new engine from Sweden an a new under tray yet 4 week previous to this it went in for a service at the same Volvo dealership, could anyone explain why it would need a new engine?

 

Get a second opinion from another INDEPENDENT mechanic who has experience with servicing Volvo's and has suitable diagnostic equipment before committing.
