Engine swap.
Hello everyone,
I am a happy owner of a 2000 V40 T3.
Obviously not a car that needs a different engine to be fun, BUT my buddy's and me had a (to be honest pretty stupid) idea of fitting an oldschool V8. Has anyone done something like this, or something similar yet with any kind of presentable results?
The idea was to grab a Chevy small block and trying to put it in transverse to keep the car FWD.

You might want to instead grab an entire transverse V-8 powered Cadillac (which is coincidentally where the "bad" Volvo XC90T6 transmissions came from). They came out in 1985 and they make them now, so there are a lot of them.
Chevrolet eventually did that also, with something they called "Impala SS" and they in fact used LS power sideways. they're probably pretty cheap. Even if you don't buy one, if you see one, you might look at what sort of space-saving tricks they used. You could measure that drivetrain and think it over.
