Default Gearbox removal?

Hello, my first post.

The gearbox went on my V40 the other day.... Woooopeee! [&:]

So I have decided to drop the box and inspect it. Unfortunately nobody makes a workshop manual for this model of volvo - 97 1.9 Tirbo diesel. Fitted with a renault engine and box... unfortunately...

I have removed all the ancillaries and gone ahead and removed all the bolts that look like they are from the box to the lump. But nothing gives.

Am I missing something? Is this something that can be done with the engine still in the car?
I assume so otherwise clutch replacement must be a nightmare...

Can anyone help?
Cheers
A.

Default RE: Gearbox removal?

You will have to drop the engine some on the transmission side.

Then it should slide out.
