How to remove interior tailgate trim on a Volvo v40?

How to remove interior tailgate trim on a Volvo v40?
Hello,
I've removed two screws from the handhold inside. Then it seams like there are two plastic clips or something on each side that are making it (at least it seams so) impossible to remove the interior from the tailgate.
The only things I can see through the "light doors" that seams to be connected with the interior are those plastic clips, but I can barely see them and I can't figure out how to remove them (see attached pictures).
It's a Volvo v40 -96.
