The storage area for the spare tyre of my V40 is letting in water from somewhere (no sun roof), I have emptied the area to sponge out the water, but cant see where it is getting in. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how can I address it please.

 

I would remove some of the rear panels and then have someone spray a hose from outside and look for the water coming in.

Also try to find the sunroof drain hoses in the rear of the car and make sure they are connected good and not clogged.

 

Also worth checking that the rear screen washer jet isn't blocked & that the washer fluid pipe is properly connected. Some V40 owners have reported leaks where the pipe connects to the nozzle/jet housing.

As tech says, take as many panels out as you can and get someone else to hose it down with you in the rear. I'd bet it's coming through the rear light clusters or the seal around the tailgate isn't fitted correctly/damaged.
