I'm looking at a used 2000 V40. It has 125k miles but the current owner is a student and has only put on 3000 miles in the last 1.5 years. Obviously, very little work has been done since he owned it. The most obvious problem with it is it's missing a section of the exhaust few months ago and I'm trying to identify if it's the catalytic converter or simply a flex pipe. It's between the engine and a cross brace, so between the engine and where it goes flat to the back of the car. I was thinking it might be worth the price ($3k) if it's simply a flex pipe, but if it's the catalytic converter then it's major $$$. Other than that, most of the car is in decent shape. The timing belt LOOKS new to my eyes but he can't confirm it.
