Hi,

My V40 has 'reduced engine performance' when I try to speed up quickly. This is happened for a week now and 2 days ago has displayed a yellow check engine light. I checked other forums for problems that the air filter could be broken to a spark plug issue (this is referring to the reduced engine performance). I took it to my local garage today and they have just called me saying that the car is not charging. I've had a similar problem 2 years where garages said it was an alternator problem but was a fuse box issue which had cost me an arm and a leg to replace a working alternator and broken fuse box. I was wondering if anyone has had any similar problems or could suggest what I should do. I have emailed a volvo dealership to see if they could help with the matter but any insight or recommendations on what the problem could be is very much appreciated.
