T4 problems :(
Howdy all
i have the pleasure of owning a volvo t4 V40 and untill recenlty was being a fantastic car.
untill recently that is.
for a month now it has been loosing power intermitantly, then running on 3 cylinders, running rough then finally cutting out.
the engine managment light has been on whilst this has happend,so i have had the car scanned 4 times, yes 4 times and two fault codes have been brought up.
i took it to volvo dealer and they couldnt give me any answers to the main fault code.
can anyone help please, fault code P1544.
car details,1998 volvo V40,1.9 turbo,petrol engine,code b4194.
the other fault code was the front lambda sensor but that was triggered by the main fault code.any help will be appreciated.
fingers crossed

RE: T4 problems :(
Hi,
This symtom is common in T4's. A good place to start is the spark plugs. When were they last replaced? It being a turbo I recomend you put in some original Volvo plugs. If it's still the same after that I then suggest the coil packs (common failure). After that it's possibly the camshaft sensor. And if all that fails, it could then be your fuel pump. I would check/replace all in that order.
Good luck...
