Default timing problem please help

hi there i have just repaired a volvo v40 engine where the 16 valves were bent ive put it all together and set timing up with all the timing marks but when i crank engine around by hand it only goes half way round and then jams can anyone tell me if there is a certain way the cam sprockets go on because its hekd on buy 3 bolts and not marked so it seems it can be put on in 3 positions is there anyway of telling which way is the correct 1 please please help!!!!

Cam alignment needs to be determined from the rear. Start with TDC #1, then align cams. https://volvoforums.com/forum/general-volvo-chat-5/cam-locking-tool-fabrication-38396/
Slots in cam ends are opposite each other.
