Volvo coolant temperature sensor code P0128
Hello:
I have been working on my first Volvo, a 2000 V40 white wagon with 138,018 miles. It now has a new radiator, water pump, thermostat and coolant that I installed last month. It runs well, but when a scan tool (Innova 3160) is connected to the OBD2 connector one of the P codes reads P0128. That code, according to AllDataDIY.com, reads faulty signal engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT). Does that translate to that this temp sensor is defective and needs to be replaced to have the engine to operate correctly?
Thanks,
Glenn
