Thumbs up 2004 v50 t5 fwd

hi all

first post, i am a recent Volvo owner, havent named the beast yet, 214,000 odd kms, with full history. No major repairs.

My plan is to naturally do the upgrades over time for performance, it is a 2.5 5cyl turbo, and must be enhanced, CHer would be proud for the impending work.

I have looked through the V50 thread, but cannot find any exhaust, chip etc work that you folks did.

Pointing me in the righ direction would be helpful.

thanks

Start by googling "volvo V50 ECU tuning" and you'll find plenty of performance parts. Most chips do the same things - they vary in price based on the loader features. Exhaust would start with a 3" downpipe. replacing the muffler/resonator mostly = loud not power. I'd also look for larger sway bars and a strut tower brace, then wheels. After that, the law of diminishing returns weigh heavy.

i removed the baffle located after the cat near rear suspension, have not noticed any increase in noise level. The ECU is scheduled changed next month.

My current exhaust has a 57mm pipe all the way from the flex downpipe, will only change the rear box to a smaller size, rather than the current elongated bath tub
