Diagnostic tool
I would like to buy a diagnostic tool and app or software to diagnose my recently bought 2005 V50 T5.
Is this possible for a mere mortal like me?

Really depends on what you want to do. For simple engine CEL fault codes, a $29 Autel OBD2 reader from Harbor Freight will do the job. If you really want a full diagnostics manual and tool, go onto eBay and search for VIDA DICE. its a two part system with the app and then the interface. The app is really an online manual which is useful on its own and the interface then does the OBD2 hook up with vendor proprietary interfaces to all computer modules. Note the VIDA version is for 2014 and older models - not sure if its a legit Volvo license but hey...
