Default Intermittent power loss

Hi
Volvo v50 2009 d5 2.4

I am losing power at random occasions without any check engine light. At first it started with slightly less power and a whistle when accelerating under load, so not when stationary in neutral. I suspected a leak but didn't find anything apparent and the issue resolved itself the next day and kept coming back at random. My mechanic found that the wastegate was not operating properly so it got replaced, yet the problem eventually came back although without the whistle and I could see that the new wastegate was operating properly this time.

Most recently when I started the car and drove off, it had absolutely no power at all together with loud turbo flutter when applying throttle. I could barely make it to third gear on flat surface. The issue resolved itself the next day.

After now doing doing a scan with diagnostic tool I got two fault codes:
135F - MAF, faulty signal
1517 - Turbo overboost

I understand that a faulty MAF could be causing the issue, but is there anything else that could cause this that I could look for before replacing the MAF? I assume it could be a damaged cable going to the MAF as well since the fault is intermittent. Any idea on where and how to start looking?
Any tips would be helpful.
