Default Sump pressure? (T5)

Hi there. I recently bought a 2005 V50 T5, a real unicorn. One lady owner, 145 000 km, full service history.

I had the aircon regassed, tyres rebalanced and rotated, wheel alignment, and did a 4 000 km road trip with it. An absolute joy.

However… I see some oil spray from the oil-filler cap. Or rather, evidence of oil spray. Only after 1 000 km or so, but still.

I am looking for some advice here. Could it be a sign of bad things to come…?

two things to do. 1) try a "rubber glove" test by removing the oil fill cap then putting a latex (ie surgeons) glove over the port. You can probably find a Youtube vid on the how to. Start the car - if the glove inflates you likely have a clogged PCV system. If it sucks in or puffs in and out you are ok. Very common that the white blocks need to have their PCV systems serviced every 100-150K miles, particularly if the oil wasn't frequently changed. 2) if the PCV is good, then consider replacing the fill cap or the fill cap gasket. After 20 years, the gaskets had a good life (similar advise is to change the gas cap's gasket as well).

Thank you very much for the reply and advice.

You refer to “the white blocks” — what is that? Apologies if this is a dumb question.
