Hi guys
So my v50 1.6d engine is scrap, and I want to replace it, with a similar one.
My question is, do I need the ecu for the replacement engine, or can I use my own.

The general rule with this kind of thing is to replace the engine with exactly the same model engine, so you can re-use your ECU (and all the other myriad of stuff that goes along with the engine management). Much easier than trying to work out the differences in a slightly different (even if less expensive) engine.
