V50 2.0D Turbo problems - DTC P2263
Hi All,
My 2005 V50 2.0D has recently developed a significant loss of power, and the ELM scanner has returned a P2263 "turbo/supercharger boost system performance" code which is pending - the MIL (engine management light) is not illuminated. I have had a look through the related VADIS pages, and performed the vacuum regulator test (to check the variable nozzle turbines) on the turbo, which was satisfactory. It is also apparent that the turbo is still producing some boost (peaking at 22psi manifold pressure at 4000+rpm under maximum load), but there is very little torque (or boost) at lower revs.
I have trawled the internet, but cannot find any details of what the peak boost/manifold pressure should be......Does anybody have any ideas or thoughts on what I could check next?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Steve

The answer....
Hi Arthurdent,
Yep, eventually I tracked it down to the small vacuum hose connected to the intercooler bypass valve at the front of the inlet manifold. The hose had been contaminated with oil, had swollen up and popped off the nipple. It took me a good few minutes to find the nipple even after finding the loose pipe - it was not immediately visible! As I understand it, the entire vacuum system should not fail for the sake of one damaged pipe, but in my case that is what seems to have happened. I re-attached the pipe, and everything worked just as it should. Having verified the fault, I replaced the affected length of hose with a piece of silicon hose which should avoid any future problems.
I hope that your problem transpires to be such a cheap and simple fix!

Just bought a V50 2.0D 2004 and it had kind off the same issue.. :,(
No turbo boost bellow 2000 RPM, above the 2000 RPM it does boost normally (feels like the VTG is not working at all but the rest is fine)
When I got around to inspecting it i saw that the vacuum hose from below the inlet manifold(where the 2 hoses are coming from a black plastic unit??)
The one that splits in a T piece is plugged (after the T where it goes down)with a screw and the hose coming from (if you standing in front of the car) left bellow is not connected at all
when I connect these properly (like a mates V50) the turbo does nothing at all..
does anyone have any idea what is plugged or de routed (sorry for my grammar... can't help it, I’m Dutch :P)
just did a diagnostic check with a mates tool;
U0301Software Incompatibility with ECM/PCM
U0380 GlowPlug/Heater Circuit "A"
i think this tells me that the car is chiped and that my glow plug is bad
but non faults seen regarding boost regulators or stuff like that
Will post a picture if this is to blurry..
/made my own threat, hoped you guys could help me
