Default V50 Break problem

I have a problem with Volvo V50 break. When starting the car in the morning and moving on, the break seems to be failing. Pressing the break only slows the car and it rolls to a stop. After few minutes on driving, the break is ok.

Break pads, fluid and everything else is fine.

What is the problem?

It may be with this pump, there is a good picture if you a search, but it is right in front of the battery. silver.

Smile V50 Break problem explained. Thank you

Brilliant, it worked.

Thank you for helping me with the information. I did exactly as you suggested. I started the engine and allowed about three minutes before moving on. The breaks worked perfectly. So it is realated to the vaccum pump.

As a note, I had this problem for about three weeks. I took my car to my Volvo garage to ask a question, (Segeltorp - Stockholm -Sweden) three weeks ago, 08:00 AM but the technical person did not have time for me. I called the garage and wanted to talk to a technical person on the phone yesterday (23-06-2010) and after waiting on the line and talking to customer service person who took my phone number, but no one called me back as they promished. This is a Volvo dealer where I service my car every year. In the end I searched on the Internet and found your forum and your senior member SVTfocusO3 replied back within 30 minutes with very helpful information! (for free)

Thank you for helping and I wish that others can be as helpful as you are.
