Default V50 Engine Rattle at low RPM

Hello all,

I have a 2005 volvo v50 T5 which I've bought 6 months ago used from volvo hamilton, and recently (past month) I am hearing a rattling sound from the engine at low RPMs or when idling, so revving up the engine makes the noise stop. Usually the sound comes when the car is just started in cold weather, and fades when it reaches normal temperature, but it wasn't like this before. I also noticed when it's in neutral gear and the car is idling the noise can't be heard as much as it is heard when it is in especially 1st gear. The engine seems to me to be more vibrating than before too looking at it.
I would appreciate your opinions and advice.

I have an S40 T5 which has a quiet idle, but passing 2,000 RPM has a distinct valve train rattle that goes away around 3,000. It stays the same, hot or cold, idling or driving. It seems louder when the engine is under load. Acceleration is strong, however the engine is not as smooth as it should be. No CEL, smoke out the exhaust or other issues. Any help would be appreciated.
