Default V50 rear Bumper Vallance

Hi - does anyone know if the rear bumper vallance on a 2005 V50 can be detached from the upper portion of the bumper. How easy/difficult is it?

The answer to my own question is - yes. From my local franchised dealer it's £94 inc VAT. How easy it is to replace I'll find out when I do it. Watch this space.

Helloooooo? Replacing the rear bumper vallance is quite a simple process. Removing the existing vallance involves undoing three torx screws on each end which attach it to the rear wheel arch liners; and two torx screws which attach the lower edge to the car. Thereis alsoa 'locating' pin at each end which can be removed with a suitable thin screwdriver to lever them out. By pushing down and out, to disengage the 16 clip fixings the vallance can be separated from the bumper cover above. Refitting is a reversal of this, but remember to remove the three u-nuts fromeach end of the old vallence and install on the new one before refitting. Otherwise it's fiddly to do this when the vallence has been re-clipped on. Took me about half an hour of being very careful so as not to damage the upper, painted part of the bumper cover.
