Volvo V50 Intermittent Smoking
Hope someone can assist, I have a 2009 Volvo V50 2.0D which has an intermittent issue with blue smoke coming from the exhaust after a certain period of time driving the vehicle. If the vehicle is stopped and ignition turned off/ then on it goes away.
Once driving again the issue persists. The colour of the smoke is blueish (burning oil)
If anyone has had this issue or know of what to check?
NB the turbo was replaced less than 10k km ago.
Many Thanks
Stephen

Lots of possibilities (and yeah, if you shut the engine off - any engine - it'll stop smoking unless you need a fire extinguisher). ;-)
Not many folks on this forum know anything about the diesel variants, sadly (wish we had them in the US - I would probably still be driving my V50 if it was a diesel). But all the "normal suspects" are possibilities - valve seals, piston rings, PCV (if the diesel uses that), and of course, all the stuff unique to diesels (which are more prone to smoking than gas versions).
